What is the difference between exporting layers and extracts?

  • Updated

Layers are the images generated during the MAPEO processing workflow, including orthomosaics, crop cover, and crop indices. If you export layers under the Export panel, you can select the layer(s), time range, and a spatial extent identified by either a bounding box, or the active extent of the MAPEO viewer when you click Export. Exporting layers will send you an email with a download link to the image file(s) in .tif format of the layer(s) you chose.

Extracts are the same images as above, however they are limited to the fields/plots that you choose in the MAPEO viewer. If you export extracts under the Export panel, you can select the fields or plots that you have previously drawn in MAPEO to determine the boundaries of the image file. Exporting extracts will send you an email with a download link to the image file(s) of the layer(s) you chose, but only of the area defined by the extract.
