A field layer allows you to delineate separate fields within a single location. When adding a new field layer, you can then draw plots and change the field layout within that field layer. A field layer is especially important for exporting data and layer statistics, as it allows you to select the field layer and specific fields for which you are interested in exporting data. You can add a new field layer by clicking the +ADD button under Field layers in the Field Data panel on the left-hand side of the MAPEO viewer.
